What is ciaopost?
ciaopost is an app for small businesses that turns customer testimonials into posts on the business's own social media. A customer speaks to the owner's phone for up to 60 seconds; ciaopost subtitles the video, collects the customer's signed consent, and publishes it to the business's Instagram, Facebook and other connected channels. Businesses can also create their own posts - videos, photos with a voice note, posts built from a listing link, or plain written messages.
Who is ciaopost for?
Small businesses of two kinds. Businesses that sell to people - bars, hair salons, gyms, car dealerships, real-estate agencies - where a testimonial is emotional and personal. And businesses that sell to other businesses - suppliers, workshops, studios, agencies, consultants - where a testimonial works as a reference, and LinkedIn is the channel that matters. You choose which kind you are when you sign up; it's the same app.
Which social networks does ciaopost publish to?
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and Pinterest for businesses that sell to people; the same channels plus LinkedIn for businesses that sell to other businesses. YouTube Shorts is available to both, for video posts only. Posts are published on the business's own accounts - the content lives on your profiles, not on ciaopost.
Does the customer have to give consent?
Yes, always. Before any testimonial is published, the customer signs a consent form on the business owner's phone, right after recording. No signature, no post - there is no way to publish a customer's testimonial without it. Your own posts (where no customer appears) don't need consent.
Does the AI rewrite what my customer says?
No - and this is the point of the product. Testimonials are published verbatim: the AI transcribes and subtitles the customer’s words but never rewrites, shortens or “improves” them. The AI does write the post’s caption (the text around the video), which is ciaopost’s own material and is moderated. A testimonial that reads better than the customer actually speaks would be a fake one.
Can I edit the subtitles?
You can correct transcription mistakes - a name the machine misheard, a word it got wrong. You cannot rewrite what the customer said: the subtitles must match the spoken words. The correction step exists so machine errors don’t go out under your customer’s name, not so the message can be edited.
What if the customer doesn’t want to be on camera?
Use voice + photo: the customer speaks (voice only), and you photograph the result of your work - the haircut, the car, the house, the dish. Their voice and words are published with the photo, with the same signed consent. And if they’d rather not appear at all, that’s fine: consent is a real choice, and a “no” costs nothing.
Can I post without a customer testimonial?
Yes. Besides testimonials, ciaopost publishes your own posts: a video with your voice (you or your staff on camera), a video without voice (show the place or the work), a photo with a voice note from you, a post built automatically from a link to one of your listings, or text you write yourself. None of these involve a customer, so none need consent.
What is “post from a link”?
You paste the URL of a listing that's already online - a car on your dealership's site, a flat on a property portal, a product page. ciaopost reads the listing and builds a ready-to-publish post for each of your channels, using the listing's photos and details. You review the preview and publish. It's built for car dealerships and real-estate agencies, whose inventory is already written up online.
How long does making a testimonial take?
The recording itself is up to 60 seconds - the customer talks, you hold the phone. After that you check the subtitles, the customer signs consent on your phone, and ciaopost publishes. The whole exchange is designed to fit into the natural moment at the counter, while the customer is still there and still happy.
How do I encourage a customer to record a ciaopost?
Offer a small thank-you: a discount on the service, a coffee on the house, a little extra on their next visit. A small cost for you, a big return for your business - and the testimonial stays honest, because their words are still their own.
