Data Deletion
Last updated: 17 July 2026 Data controller: Envestis SA, Via Pretorio 13A, 6900 Lugano, Switzerland Business Identification Number (UID): CHE-339.253.743 Privacy contact: privacy@ciaopost.com
This page explains how to delete data ciaopost holds about you, and what happens when you do. It is the short version of our Privacy Policy, Sections 7, 9 and 10; where the two disagree, the Privacy Policy governs.
1. Disconnect a social account
Disconnecting an account you connected — Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest, YouTube or LinkedIn — deletes the access and refresh tokens for it immediately. From that moment ciaopost cannot reach that account at all.
Do it in ciaopost, under your connected accounts. You can also revoke our access from the platform’s own settings, which works whether or not you use ciaopost again:
| Platform | Where to revoke our access |
|---|---|
| Google / YouTube | https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions |
| Facebook / Instagram | https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools |
| TikTok | TikTok app → Settings and privacy → Security → Manage app permissions |
| https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/permitted-services | |
| X | https://x.com/settings/connected_apps |
| Pinterest → Settings → Security → Apps |
Posts already published to your accounts are not affected. They are on your profiles, under your control, and only you can remove them there.
2. Delete everything
Write to privacy@ciaopost.com from the email address on the account, or delete the account in ciaopost. Either way:
- we delete your account data, your connected-account tokens, and the media and testimonials stored for you;
- we do it within 30 days of the request, and we confirm it to you in writing;
- we tell you what, if anything, we had to keep, and why (Section 4 below).
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We ask for no more than it takes to be sure you are you.
3. If you gave a testimonial to a business
If you are an End Customer — you recorded a testimonial for a business that uses ciaopost — that business is the controller of your testimonial and we are its processor. It decided to collect it and it holds the consent you gave.
Contact the business and ask them to delete it. They can do it themselves in ciaopost, and we support their response as processor. If you cannot reach them, or they do not answer, write to privacy@ciaopost.com and we will help you reach them — but the decision is theirs to make, not ours to make for them.
4. What we have to keep, and for how long
Deletion is not total, and no honest policy says it is. By law we keep:
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Billing and invoice data | Ten years | Swiss accounting law |
| End Customer consent records | Ten years | Evidence that consent was given |
| Fraud-prevention record | Beyond account deletion | To stop the same abuse repeating |
The fraud-prevention record is the minimum needed to recognise a returning abuser, and nothing more. Everything else goes.
5. Contact
Privacy contact: privacy@ciaopost.com Postal: Envestis SA, Via Pretorio 13A, 6900 Lugano, Switzerland
We answer within the time the law allows — generally one month under the GDPR. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the FDPIC, in the EU your local data protection authority, in the UK the ICO, in Australia the OAIC, in Japan the PPC. See Privacy Policy Section 10.
